The Illinois Supreme Court just overturned damage caps and other medical malpractice reforms adopted in a 2005 reform law. Looks like practicing medicine in IL just got tougher.

  1. This is a regrettable. Our Supreme Court in Ohio declared caps to be unconstitutional twice. This changed once we elected 2 new justices the court several years ago. Tort reform has made a huge difference here. Before it was enacted, we were losing physicians to other states. Many others retired before they wanted to. I don’t think that caps are the ideal solution, but they did stop the bleeding here in Ohio.
